Cut from delicate Cinco Blanco clay and glazed in-house at Ceramigos, our place holders are not just metaphorical. Use them to hold your book open or weigh down a flighty page.
Edward Cooke, professor of decorative arts at Yale, has written an extremely clever history of the entanglements of things. Cultural, material, and functional relationships are beautifully illustrated throughout.
Bible is hardly an overstatement here. This volume covers all of the basics, from instructions in a variety of wedging techniques to galleries of works that have been handbuilt, thrown, glazed, fired in a variety of kilns. Also advanced work, featured in galleries demonstrating techniques and artists profiles.

Funny Weather is a collection of essays taken from the eponymous column Olivia Laing wrote for Frieze Magazine. They engage with artists, paintings, theater, poetry, and politics, celebrating the ability of art to resist and repair even in the darkest times.
Published in 2020 when life already felt catastrophic (“spin cycle of terrified paranoia”) this is a document of hope - Laing’s as well as the artists’ who inspire her. Their art, music, books, and activism. David Bowie, Maggie Nelson, Arthur Russell, Sally Rooney. Dream on, fight on.
This is a thorough guide for kids and their caregivers, with information about terminology, equipment, and the science of turning clay from the earth into a pot. Tutorials for hand-building techniques as well as instructions for glazing and firing will encourage any kid (or adult) to get started and have a lot of fun. The gallery of kid ceramics at the end will inspire beginnings to be proud of their creativity and their work!
